The game starts with placing the ante bet then the bank will deal you two cards facing up while the bank will deal two cards to himself but, facing down. After dealing the hole cards to each player, the dealer will place three community cards on the table. At that point the player should decide to continue playing this hand or not.

If you wish to keep playing the hand then, you need to place a bet that is double the amount of the ante bet that you placed earlier. This is called the call bet. On the other hand, when you decide to “fold” or quit playing the hand, you will lose your ante bet to the favor of the bank.

When you place the call bet and decide to keep into the game, the dealer will deal two more cards in addition to the three community cards dealt before. Using the two hole cards and selecting three of the community cards, you should try to combine the best five cards in order to win the hand. Dealer should qualify to playing the hand and this only occurs when the dealer has an ace or king card. If the dealer does not qualify then the players will win an equal amount to their bet but, if the dealer is qualified then the players should combine a hand that is stronger than this of the dealer in order to win.

Each hand combination has its own payout and in order to win, you need to outnumber the dealer’s hand. The payment for the different combinations is as follows.

- If you have the highest card, one or two pairs or three of a kind or straight then, payout is even

- Having a flush will give you a 2 to 1 payout

- Combining a full house entitles you to 3 : 1 payout

- Collecting four of a kind gives you a 10 : 1

- Straight flush gives a hefty 20 : 1 payout

- The royal flush is the highest and it pays 100 : 1

Apart from the normal payment scheme of your bets, some casinos will offer a progressive jackpot price. The strength of your hand will determine the percent that you will get from the jackpot prize. Each casino has its own rules for this jackpot prizes so, make sure that you understand them well.
