How to play Caribbean Stud Poker : Online Caribbean Stud Poker - playing instructions

Stud poker is one of the games that appeared for the first time on the casinos of the Cruise ships in the Caribbean. Rapidly the game started to appear in the different casinos around the world because of the popularity of the game. It is a standard deck (52 cards) game with no wild cards used.

Before you start playing your hand, you should place a bid upfront and if you also want to participate in the Jackpot prize then another wager should be placed in the designated spot for that.

The hand starts by dealing 5 cards to each player and the dealer also receives five cards but, one of them should be facing up.

At that point, the player decides to call the hand or fold it. If the player will call then he needs to place another bet which is double the initial bet that was placed before. If you fold your hand then you lose the primary bet and wait for the next hand to participate.

In stud poker, you are competing against the dealer so; if the dealer qualifies for the hand then you need to score better in order to win the hand. If the dealer does not qualify for the hand then you get even money for your primary bet disregarding what you have in your hand.

Dealer qualification is based on having aces and kings in his hand and the payment scheme is as follows:
One pair = even money.
Two pairs = 2 to 1.
Three of a kind = 3 to 1.
Straight = 4 to 1.
Flush = 5 to 1.
Full house = 7 to 1.
Quads = 20 to 1.
Straight flush = 50 to 1.
Royal flush = 100 to 1.

The listed above payout is applicable only if the dealer is qualified to play the hand. If not, then the player only receives even money on the primary bet. Yet, this does not prevent the player from receiving a jackpot prize, if he had placed a wager in the jackpot spot.

This is the payment scheme for the jackpot:
Flush awards 50 $.
Full house awards 75 $.
Quads awards 100 $.
Straight will award the player 10 % of the progressive jackpot.
Royal flush will get the entire progressive jackpot.

When you wager in stud poker, you should know when you should raise your bet and when to surrender the hand. It is very wise to fold whenever you have a hand that is less than the qualification line of the dealer while you should push hard if you have a strong hand of pairs or higher.
